Makovsky's Technology practice is looking for smart, energetic Account Supervisor candidates to join our growing team. This position is a full-time, NYC-based position.

Some of the responsibilities of the Account Supervisor include:

  • Manage multiple projects for a variety of technology accounts, from strategic development of campaigns, platforms and media plans to tactical execution of activities
  • Effectively handle all aspects of reactive and proactive media relations projects from opportunity identification to idea conceptualization to pitch writing to securing and packaging opportunities on a consistent basis
  • Write strong, accurate pitches, press releases and byline articles
  • Utilize Social Media platforms to track news, reporters and announcements in real-time, providing strategic and tactical recommendations for client opportunities
  • Proactively manage client correspondence (i.e. daily account and pitch updates, weekly and monthly activity reports, etc.), establishing a personal rapport and professional trust with internal client leads
  • Manage time well and balance accounts, ensuring all client deadlines are met on time
  • Oversee research, preparation and maintenance of accurate media lists; manage comprehensive media monitoring; prepare accurate and timely client reports and provide thoughtful analysis and feedback on results
  • Build level-appropriate understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape and how they impact clients
  • Aid in new business development, including idea contribution, research, visuals creation and proposal preparation

Some of the qualifications we are seeking in a candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and 5+ years experience in an agency setting, technology media relations function or related field
  • Comprehensive level of understanding of assigned accounts (business, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, etc.), and the ability to succinctly convey this knowledge to the media and internal account team members
  • Solid knowledge of the technology media landscape including strong relationships with reporters and bloggers covering the space
  • Strong research, writing, editing and client interaction skills; the ability to perform well under pressure and be a team player
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal client contacts (junior staff, peers, and senior staff), demonstrating a consistently high level of verbal and written communications
  • Understand the role of media in shaping perceptions; use media effectively to achieve a range of client goals; understand basic structure and dynamics of various media channels/outlets and play active role in assisting with development of effective media strategies
  • Provide sound, well-informed, level-appropriate media counsel on application of digital and social media tools and utilize these effectively as part of the media mix
